We are the controller of the personal details described here. For any question about them, email info@buildlink.ie with Privacy in the subject.
Who this is for
Our employees, people who apply to work with us, and subcontractors who work with us. Customers and people who ask us for a price are covered by our privacy notice.
What we hold
- Your name, address, phone, email, date of birth and an emergency contact.
- Your PPS number, bank details, tax and RCT details, pay, invoices and payslips.
- The days, hours and sites you work, from our timesheet app.
- Training and safety records, such as Safe Pass and Manual Handling, and other certificates.
- Your right to work in Ireland, and a copy of your ID where we need it.
- Accident and incident reports, and any health details you tell us that matter for safety at work.
How we use it, and why
- To pay you, run payroll, or pay your invoices and deal with RCT. This is our contract with you, and what Irish tax law requires.
- To keep the tax, employment and safety records the law requires.
- To plan the work, keep time records and bill our customers for the work done. These are our legitimate interests.
- To show a main contractor that the crew on their site is trained and insured, when they ask.
- To keep everyone safe on site, and to deal with any accident.
Outside the EEA
Some of our software providers store data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer relies on the protections the law provides, such as an EU adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Pay, tax and RCT records are kept for six years, as Irish tax law requires. Other records are kept while you work with us and for six years after, in case of a claim, or longer where the law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask to see or correct your details, to limit or object to how we use them, or for a copy to take elsewhere. You can also ask us to delete them, unless the law needs us to keep them. It is free, and we reply within one month. Email us at info@buildlink.ie
Complaints
Please tell us first, so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission: dataprotection.ie, or Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963.
