Who we are

We are the controller of the personal details described here. For any question about them, email info@buildlink.ie with Privacy in the subject.

What we collect

The details you give us when you contact us, ask for a price, book a visit or become a customer. Usually that is your name, phone, email, the address of the job, what you would like done, and any photos, drawings or messages you send.

If you work for a company we deal with, we keep your work contact details.

When you visit our website, our web host sees technical details such as your IP address and browser, to deliver the pages and keep the site safe.

How we use it, and why

• To reply to you, give you a price and arrange a visit. This is a step you asked for before a contract.
• To do the work, keep in touch about it and invoice you. This is our contract with you.
• To keep the records the law requires, such as tax records.
• To run our business well: keeping a record of what was agreed, dealing with the companies we work for, keeping our website safe, and asking for a review after a job. These are our legitimate interests, and you can object to them.

Photos of our work

We may photograph finished work. A photo of your home goes online only with your OK, and never shows the address, the place or your name. You can withdraw your OK at any time and we take it down.

Who we share it with

Only as far as needed to do your job or run our business:

• Trades, suppliers and design partners who help with your job.
• Our accountants, insurers and professional advisers.
• Public bodies where the law requires it, such as Revenue or the local council.
• Companies that provide our email, website, messaging, accounts and office software, who act on our instructions.

Outside the EEA

Some of our software providers store data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer relies on the protections the law provides, such as an EU adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Records of jobs, quotes and invoices are kept for six years, as Irish tax law requires. Other details are kept while they are useful to deal with you, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

Marketing

We do not send marketing emails to homeowners. We may email businesses at a work address about our services. Reply stop and we will not write again.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your details, to limit or object to how we use them, or for a copy to take elsewhere. It is free, and we reply within one month. Email us at info@buildlink.ie
